Welcome Home! Sacred Heart of Jesus American National Catholic Church (ANCC) is an all embracing parish community of the American National Catholic Church. Sacred Heart is a new faith community in the Catholic tradition which embraces all into full participation in the sacramental life of the church. We are a viable option for those seeking to feel at home in a valid Catholic community which strives to teach and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We try to fulfill Christ’s admonition to love one another as God loves us. We are serious about making a difference in our world, and to that end make all of the sacraments of the Church available to all who ask. Our theology is informed by our belief that the Holy Spirit is calling us to participate in the re-creation and renewal of the Catholic Church. We trust that God has called us into existence to be a healing presence to those who feel that the Church has left them, and we welcome all to come home to a faith that lives and works in and through the People of God. Sacred Heart is a place for Contemporary Catholics, seeking to learn about God and God’s will, to reach out and share what they have learned and experienced. Our parish is guided by the inspired work of Vatican Council II, as we are ever mindful of the Council’s call to have the Church be the living Body of Christ in our world. We invite you to come and see what it’s like being an independent Catholic. No matter who you are or where you’ve been– All are Welcome Here. Join us this Sunday!

Please join me in praying: Loving Creator, Author of Goodness and Life, We thank you for this glorious day which you have bestowed on us to remember the heroic prophesy of our brothers and sisters at Stonewall 50 years ago, to celebrate how far we have come to this moment today and to hope and grasp the vision of where you are leading us--- A free and equal people united as sisters and brothers of the world. We especially thank you for creating each of us in your very own image and likeness. Wherever two or three are gathered in your name, you are present. You are bringing together thousands of us today---- gathered in your name. For your name is LOVE and your language is LOVE. Let us spend this day recognizing you and honoring you in every person that has gathered here today and carrying that honor and respect beyond this gathering into our community, our society and throughout the world. You are Love and Love is the answer. And the people cried: AMEN !

Delivered the first load of backpacks to UCC in Newark which operates shelters, outreach and service programs for at risk families and individuals. Today I was able to bring them 37 Back to School Backpacks. The director was wiping away a few tears as she helped me unload them from my car and bring them inside. Here are two girls with their new backpacks, a Mom getting two backpacks for her daughters and a volunteer helping to sort them. I feel good and bad at the same time--- last year this effort helped me deliver over 150 backpacks. This one outreach says she could have used about 200 and my drive is the only source she has. No one else has stepped up to assist her. I also usually bring backpacks to 3 other shelters. This year we will probably come in at about 90 due to another effort that took most of the donations I received in years past from my neighbors. I am so grateful to and thank those neighbors who did still donate to my efforts. This is always an annual effort supported by my network--- my friends and family, Prominent Properties Sotheby's International Realty Hoboken Office, my Port Liberte neighbors and members of my church, Sacred Heart of Jesus ANCC. It's not too late. I will still take them donations up to Wednesday the 28th. I have been doing this for 5 or 6 years now and it does take a village!

Our condolences and prayers for comfort of the family of Maria Teresa Guiterrez who went home to God's loving arms last evening. Her son Luis is a long distance friend of our parish. We will especially remember her at our altar this Sunday.

Congratulations to Bernardo on his first mass at Sacred Heart!
We were blessed to have Fr. Vincent celebrate the mass with us last week, and we were doubly blessed to have Louis Lisi join us also! Fr. Vincent preached about diversity and the words of this hymn weave beautifully into our faith and life in the church. Many gifts, one Spirit, one love known in many ways. In our difference is blessing, from diversity we praise One Giver, one Lord, one Spirit, one Word Known in many ways, hallowing our days. For the Giver, for the gifts, praise, Praise, PRAISE!
All are welcome to join Us on Sunday, November 13th, 12:30 p.m. Mass for a retirement party for Father Vincent. You will be missed! .
Powerful, moving, beautiful song! Blessed to celebrate the second Sunday in Advent with Louis Lisi! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and talents!
